Mapping the Invisible Web
Galore Films – Die Zelle, Putins Wiener Spione
For the On Air Design of Die Zelle — a documentary investigating Russian spy networks in Austria — I was asked to visualize the hidden web of connections between agents. The filmmaker initially imagined a classic red-string-on-a-police-board setup, but I suggested a more organic and unsettling approach: mold slowly spreading across translucent layers. This direction subtly echoed the secrecy and danger of espionage, using shifting textures, cryptic codes, and blurred elements to suggest hidden truths emerging. The result? A quietly gripping visual narrative that support the story without ever cracking the documentary’s impartial shell.
