VR & AR
Inside the Virtual Eggshell
Step into new worlds without leaving your sofa; that’s the promise of virtual technologies. VR and AR bring products and stories vividly to life. From exploring remote locations to trying on virtual items, they offer fresh, engaging ways to connect with audiences. Their real strength lies in emotional immersion, turning information into personal experiences and helping buyers make more confident decisions. Though some still see them as gimmicks, VR and AR are quickly proving themselves as powerful storytelling tools and key players in the future of marketing.

Cracking the VR Narrative
Master Thesis at FH Joanneum
Virtual reality cracks open whole new worlds; ones you can actually step into. But telling a story in VR? That’s still a bit of a soft-boiled challenge. For my master’s thesis, I took a step back to explore why narrative solutions in VR remain so scrambled: from tech limitations to the gap between theory and practice. The result was both a deep-dive into the medium’s growing pains and a hands-on experiment in non-linear, visual storytelling. Augmented Empathy
UNESCO — FH JOANNEUM, Showcase exhibition
Unlike VR, Augmented Reality is instantly accessible to anyone with a smartphone, making it a powerful tool for connection. In a project for a UNESCO initiative, I helped design an AR experience that linked printed infographics to personal interviews about endangered dialects. By pointing their phone at an image, viewers could hear and see the voices behind the data, adding empathy, presence, and a touch of magic to an otherwise static page. It’s proof that even serious topics can hatch new meaning when technology meets storytelling.

Shielded Stories,
Shared Reactions
FH JOANNEUM — Showcase exhibition
In the interactive projection mapping project Eyes Wide Shot 2.0, viewers step inside a semi-enclosed “shell”: an umbrella acting as both shield and stage. By rotating the umbrella, they engage directly with the content, creating a unique dialogue between viewer, image, and surface. Sitting beneath this intimate dome, much like a cozy nest, the experience invites raw emotions while others watch from outside, reading reactions like a second layer of storytelling. It’s a delicate balance of protection and exposure, revealing new ways to connect with immersive content.
